******************************************************************************** ** ISDC END OF REVOLUTION REPORT (NRT) ** REVOLUTION 2688 - Report of September 22, 2023 ******************************************************************************** Perigee Passage at start : 2023-09-19T14:25:22 Perigee Passage at end : 2023-09-22T06:15:55 Radiation Belt exit : 25546 km (ijd 8662.6557) Radiation Belt entrance : 55663 km (ijd 8665.0975) 1. Planning summary =================== 1.1 General remarks a) Numerous alerts 605 related to instruments: JEM-X 2, SPI. b) Numerous alerts 6099 related to instrument OMC. c) In relation to the AHF for Rev 2688, which has just been completed, we should draw your attention to the following: - Due to operator error, the routine automatic jobs were not scheduled on the FDS before the start of the revolution. In particular, the routine updateslew jobs were missing that correct any attitude drift after the previous open-loop slew by updating the slew parameters for the following slew. - This oversight was only spotted and corrected at 2023-09-20T06:20Z during PREQ 26880023. - In particular, after the first slew in the revolution (amplitude 80 degrees), there was an off-pointing from the planned attitude of: -0.0162957 deg in RA -0.1393327 deg in Dec which would normally have been corrected with the second OSL to the same attitude. In this case, the attitude error between realised and planned attitude evolved over the next 21 pointings to: 0.0451930 deg in RA -0.1743808 deg in Dec before the correction was made during PREQ 26880023. - After a brief discussion with Jutta, we realised that this unfortunate oversight has a couple of positive points, namely: - it shows the general robustness of the Gyro Slew on-board software, in that the attitude drift increased very slowly after the first large slew. - it increased our optimism that the gyro slew s/w would provide good performance should we use it to slew to an earth-occulted attitude for a planned earth occultation attitude in the future. - We hope that the impact on science processing is small, but would be interested in any feedback from ISDC. 1.2 Pointings summary Remarks: Exposure info from POD. Pointing info from TSF. - Durations in exec/planned format; data gaps and bad time intervals not excluded from total time. - Deviations: only unexpected deviations >30 secs for pointings assigned to an exposure reported; expected deviations (first & last pointings of an exposure longer than planned) not reported. *** Exposure 26880001: 'Gal.
